Common Milkweed is an important plant for Monarch Butterflies as well as a variety of pollinating insects. Blooming from June-August, Common Milkweed produces multiple lavender and pink flowers. One of the easiest milkweed species to establish, Common milkweed spreads rapidly by rhizomes, and grows easily from seed. Because of that Common Milkweed is very easily established in butterfly gardens, flower beds, or native prairie sites.
